The Delhi Daredevils versus Sunrisers Hyderabad contest on Thursday night was a match which showed the true promise and potential of the young Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
Pant played a spectacular knock of 128* but still couldn't help his team win the match. It was sheer power with which Pant was hitting his shots and for the first time in the tournament, the Sunrisers bowlers looked out of sorts. None of them had an answer to Pant's fireworks at the Kotla as he displayed an array of strokeful shots all around the park.
However, just when it needed the most for their team, SRH batsmen in the form of Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan stood up for their team. Both finished the game off for Sunrisers helping them seal the playoffs berth by an unbeaten 176 run unbeaten partnership, the highest this season.
Players and support staff from both camps congratulated Sunrisers for their qualification into the playoffs. At the same time, they congratulated Pant for his terrific innings which was one of the best of the season so far and one of IPL's best ever.
Here are the tweets congratulating SRH and Pant respectively.
Unbelievable innings from @RishabPant777 tonight! Continues to play with amazing skill and power. Unfortunately Hyderabad were too good for us tonight. Hopefully finish the season with 3 good wins for our amazing home fans.

Rishabh Pant rightly hogged the limelight with a brilliant knock but it was a clinical performance from @SDhawan25 and Kane who not only went after the big shots but ran brilliantly between the wickets. Very satisfying win and looking to continue with the momentum #DDvSRH
