Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is playing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MCA Stadium in Pune, with RCB looking to stay alive in the IPL 2018 by winning the match.
CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first. CSK bowling troubled the RCB batting a lot, with the exception of Parthiv Patel, who came in for Manan Vohra. Ngidi got rid of Brendon McCullum for 5, caught by Shardul, while Jadeja clean bowled Virat Kohli for 8; however the biggest blow for RCB came when AB de Villiers, who returned from being ill with Virat fever, was also dismissed for cheap.
De Villiers was stumped by MS Dhoni, trying to play the reverse sweep and over balancing himself out of the crease. The delivery by Harbhajan went down the leg side and the master stumper collected and whipped the ball in one go, with De Villiers not even trying to make it back. With his wicket, RCB were left reeling at 56/3 in 7.3 overs.
