Amit Mishra, the Delhi Daredevils leg-spinner, has stated that his team winning two of their last three games has given the dressing room a mentally relaxed atmosphere. Delhi is very precariously placed in the points table right now, having just 3 of their 9 games they need to win all their remaining matches to have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. 

Amit Mishra was quoted saying after the match that, “We are not in a situation where we can look beyond one game at a time. We are mentally relaxed after the two wins in the last three matches. The youngsters in the team have stepped up and we are intent on staying positive,”

“It is not the job of one or two individuals, taking the team to victory. Be it batting or bowling, a collective effort is needed,”   

Mishra was dropped from the team after the first game where he was expensive against Kings XI Punjab, but once the leadership has changed from Gautam Gambhir to Shreyas Iyer, Mishra has played all the games. On this, he said, “It was the management’s decision to bench me after the first match. I was waiting for my chance and am happy to have got decent results. I always stayed positive. It is also heartening to see that almost every team now has a wrist spinner. Whether they take wickets or not, teams have begun to understand the value of wrist spinners,”
