Ravichandran Ashwin, the Kings XI Punjab Captain, has stated that he is quite disappointed by the batting unit's performance last night. Punjab failed to chase down the modest-looking target of 133 versus the Sunrisers Hyderabad and collapsed to 119 all-out. Something can be put down to being an aberration for a batting line-up including Chis Gayle and KL Rahul in rampaging form but you can't afford to lose momentum at any stage of the toughest T20 league.

Ashwin was quoted saying, “These things (batting collapse) happen in this kind of a tournament and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling made the difference. We lost wickets throughout the middle (overs) and I thought we kept attacking a little too much and lost few wickets,”

He further added, “We do have finishers but they are not coming off. You won’t get all the puzzles solved at once. Hopefully, some of the people whom we have trusted will come good at the right time. That’s how you get going. They are quality players,”

Ashwin also pointed out the mistakes made in the field as well. Kings XI dropped a few crucial chances that eventually cost them. He said, “I think we fielded pretty badly. We dropped way too many catches for a 20-over game. At the end it cost us. If we had held at least a couple of those catches, we might have given Sunrisers 20-30 runs less. Having said that we must also acknowledge that it is a long tournament and it is important to keep the heads up. You do have bad days,”
