Delhi Daredevils has made a poor start to the IPL season. The team led by Gautam Gambhir has lost both their games so far, firstly to Kings XI Punjab and then a run-curtailed game to Rajasthan Royals. They are looking to ensure they turn their fortunes around and Shahbaz Nadeem the left arm spinner for DD has come out and expressed the importance of having Ricky Ponting, the former Australian great and the team's head coach, around for it.
Shahbaz gave a lot of credit to his coach Ponting for creating a good team atmosphere around and spreading the positivity in the camp. At a post-match press conference, Shahbaz reiterated the sentiment. Stating, “His only mantra is to win. He does not believe in how you play or what you do. At the end of the day, the results should be positive; he is here to win the championship and that’s what he tells us every day and we have to believe in him and he comes with a positive attitude, it is helping us a lot,”
Nadeem has been a fine performer for Delhi in the IPL over the years. Playing the last game versus Rajasthan Royals he did well, despite not featuring in the first game versus Kings XI Punjab.
Talking about his game. Nadeem said, “From the last two-three years, spinners are doing well in T20 format. They come after six overs and bowl till 15th over. the maximum time you will see that if spinners take two-three wickets in the middle period, they are doing an exceptional job for the team,”
