Ravi Shastri, the coach of the Indian Cricket team has shared his thoughts on a brand new season of the Indian Premier League which starts from today. Comeback franchise Chennai Super Kings take on defending champions Mumbai Indians in the first match of the season.

The BCCI has roped in a team of 100 commentators who will be doing commentary on the games in various languages. Besides English and Hindi, the IPL games will be televised in regional languages as well for which a team of regional specialists will commentate on the game at the Wankhede stadium.

However, Ravi Shastri will not be a part of the commentary team due to his commitments with the Indian Cricket team. In case Shastri joins the commentary team it will be a position of conflict of interest for the Team India head coach.

In a tweet, Shastri has sent his best wishes ahead of the start of the tournament. Through his tweet, he has praised the IPL for its success over the years and has given his best wishes for the new season. He also said through his tweet that its that time of the year when cricket joins hands with glamour and brings the best onto your bedrooms.

As far as IPL history goes, this will be the first time when Ravi Shastri will not be commentating in IPL.
