Rajasthan Royals has named South African sensation Heinrich Klaasen as replacement for Steve Smith for the upcoming IPL 2018 season.

Steve Smith was banned by IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla in view of his involvement in the ball tampering scandal and subsequent ban levied by Cricket Australia from international cricket. Rajasthan Royals, who are making their return to the IPL after their two year suspension, had named Smith as their captain.

Now, RR replaced Smith with Rahane as captain and has brought in Proteas wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen, who impressed one and all during the six match India-South Africa ODI series recently, with his ability to clear the boundaries and ease at which he played the spinners.

Rajasthan Royals play their first match against SRH on 9th April in Hyderabad.
