In a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday (March 7), Delhi Daredevils unveiled their jersey for the new season which also sees the return of Gautam Gambhir as captain of the side from where he started his IPL career.
Gautam Gambhir was earlier released by KKR before the 2018 IPL auctions, a team which he led for seven years. He also led KKR to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 in the process and was the highest run-scorer for KKR in the meantime.
The franchise also announced Daikin as the official sponsor for Delhi Daredevils for the season besides naming Gambhir their skipper for the season. Gambhir previously led DD for two seasons in 2009 and 2010 before he was roped in by KKR in 2011.
Back as captain, Gambhir will have his former KKR teammates, Colin Munro and Trent Boult for company in the Delhi dugout. Delhi again has invested in youth by bagging in the likes of Prithvi Shaw and showing faith in Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer by retaining them prior to the auctions.
The captain is loving it, @manjot_kalra and @namanojha35 are too.
