Prabhsimran Singh opened the batting for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2025 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Mullanpur, and slammed 18 runs from 10 balls.
His brief knock was studded with two fours and one six. While the maximum came off Yash Dayal in the second over, two back-to-back boundaries against Bhuvneshwar Kumar were scored in the third over.
However, on the last ball of the third over, Prabhsimran perished. He was caught behind by Jitesh Sharma.
After Jitesh completed the grab, RCB talisman Virat Kohli erupted in a fiery celebration and the video of the same is now going viral on social media.
Here’s the video:
Coming to the match, Punjab’s innings folded for a paltry 101 in 14.1 overs after RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to bowl first. Marcus Stoinis was the top scorer with 26 off 17 balls.
Josh Hazlewood (3-21 in 3.1 overs) and Suyash Sharma (3-17 in 3 overs) were the wrecker-in-chief with the ball, returning with three wickets each. Yash Dayal (2-26 in 4 overs), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1-17 in 2 overs) and Romario Shepherd (1-5 in 1 over) shared the four scalps among them.
The winner of this game will directly qualify for the IPL 2025 final, slated to be held in Ahmedabad on June 3.
