Arshdeep Singh, a seamer for Punjab Kings (PBKS), has said that certain Punjabi supporters do not support the team. In the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), Punjab Kings are having an incredible season and have made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
With the team performing as a cohesive one and finishing at the top of the points table, captain Shreyas Iyer has contributed to Punjab's incredible comeback.
In response to a fan's Snapchat message, Arshdeep stated that Punjab has not shown much support for their team this season, despite their outstanding performance. As the squad enters the playoffs, he asked everyone to support them.
“Thank you for supporting us. You’re not Punjabi, but you’re still supporting Punjab, whereas there are a lot of people who don’t support Punjab and have different favourite teams. I would like to urge them to support Punjab, their state, their team, and come in big numbers to see us win,” said Arshdeep while replying to a fan’s comment on Snapchat.
Arshdeep Singh has been the star pacer for PBKS in IPL 2025. He has 18 wickets from 13 wickets at an average of 23 and an economy of 8.56. The left-armer has shined in powerplay overs, often taking wickets early on with the new ball.
With 19 points at the top of the standings, Punjab has won nine of the 14 league games this season. In Qualifier 1 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, they will next play the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The victor of the match will immediately advance to the final, which will take place at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3.
