Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi isn’t willing to bring out his trademark notebook celebration against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and star batter Virat Kohli.
Ahead of the two teams’ clash at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (May 27), Digvesh interacted with some of LSG’s fans.
As expected, the topic of his celebrations came up for discussion as public enquired if Kohli was the ‘next’ in line to be on the receiving end.
In response, Rathi quietly shook his head and offered a smile. The video of the same went viral on social media.
Here’s the clip:
Digvesh Rathi has been fined twice for his 'notebook celebration' in the ongoing IPL. Several demerit points have also been added to his name.
Rathi made the notebook gesture after dismissing Priyansh Arya during a match against Punjab Kings last month. The leg-spinner pulled off a similar celebration in the subsequent fixture against Mumbai Indians after taking the wicket of Naman Dhir.
Digvesh was fined 25 percent of his match fees for the first offence, while he copped 50 percent penalty for the second offence. Subsequently, he modified his celebration a bit and avoided performing the notebook gesture on batters’ face.
Last week, Digvesh Rathi was fined 50 percent of his match fees and handed one-match suspension following his heated altercation with Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma.
