
The 69th match of the IPL 2025 saw Punjab Kings (PBKS) facing off against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 26, 2025. This battle was for a spot in the top two of the points table. Shreyas Iyer started well, winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.
MI's top three Rohit Sharma (24), Ryan Rickelton (27), and Suryakumar Yadav (57) did well, but PBKS bowling was of top notch. Thanks to Hardik Pandya’s 26 and Naman Dhir’s 20, MI somehow managed to post 184/7 in 20 overs.
Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Vijaykumar Vyshak picked up two wickets each for PBKS.
Though PBKS lost Prabhsimran Singh for 13 runs, Priyansh Arya and Josh Inglis added 109 runs in 59 balls for the second wicket to put the team in the driver’s seat. Arya made 62 with 9 fours and 2 sixes, while Inglish got out for 73 with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Shreyas Iyer finished off the match with 26* with one four and 2 sixes as PBKS won the game by 7 wickets. With this win, PBKS also confirmed a finish in the top two of the IPL 2025 points table as they now have 19 points from 14 games.
The final top four standings will be decided after the RCB v LSG match on May 27, Tuesday.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for the PBKS team, as they had an all-around performance against MI.
