With a top-two spot up for grabs in the IPL 2025 points table, Mumbai Indians (MI) are currently facing Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Ahead of the game, MI skipper Hardik Pandya was not sure as to what he wanted to do should he win the toss. As a result, his teammate, Suryakumar Yadav, came up to rescue with a witty plan.
In a video doing rounds on social media, Hardik can be seen having a fun chat with Suryakumar before the toss, where the latter asked his skipper to pick one of the two fingers and go with whatever that was assigned.
However, Hardik didn’t get a chance to implement Suryakumar’s plan as PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer ended up winning the toss and opted to bowl first.
Speaking at the toss, Hardik Pandya admitted that he was indeed unsure of what to do and was glad that they did not have to take a call.
“Looks like a good track, let’s see. It is a good toss to lose; we were not sure what to do. We didn’t mind either batting or bowling. We will put some runs and defend it," the MI captain said.
“For us to be in this situation lot of results had to go our way, five days back we were not in this position and today we are, but being honest last 8-9 games have been like knockouts for us," he added.
