Australia’s Mitchell Starc has opted not to return to India for the rest of the IPL 2025 season. The IPL 2025 was paused on May 9 due to border tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the BCCI has announced that IPL will resume on May 17 with the final scheduled for June 7.
In a viral video on social media, Starc, who plays for Delhi Capitals, was seen at the airport with his luggage on his way back to Australia, when the IPL was suspended for a week.
In the video, the fan approaches Starc and says hello to him. However, Starc, who was busy unloading his luggage was not in mood for interaction, shooed him away, asking him to ‘Go Away’.

As per the Hindustan Times, Starc has let the Delhi Capitals management know that he has no plans to return. After Jake Fraser-McGurk, Starc is the second member of the Delhi Capitals to choose not to play the rest of the competition.
"Starc has informed the DC management that he won't be coming back. The franchise has accepted his decision," a source confirmed to Hindustan Times.
DC has already lost the services of their dashing opener Jake Fraser-McGurk, who decided not to return for the rest of the IPL 2025. The franchise signed Mustafizur Rahman,as his replacement, who incidentally flew to Dubai for Bangladesh's two-match T20I series vs UAE.
Bangladesh plays UAE on May 17 and 19, and if Mustafizur happens to play both games, he would only reach India on May 20. He would miss Delhi's game against the Gujarat Titans.
The Delhi Capitals are in fifth place in the rankings with three games left. The team captained by Axar Patel has a reasonable chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
