The ongoing 45th match of the IPL 2025 between Mumbai Indian (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 27, 2025 in Mumbai, witnessed some breathtaking shots from MI’s Suryakumar Yadav.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. MI made two changes as Karn Sharma returned to the playing XI and Corbin Bosch made his IPL debut in place of Mitchell Santner. LSG also brought in Mayank Yadav for his first match of the season.
Rohit Sharma hit two beautiful sixes, but fell for 12 runs. But Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks added 55 runs for the second wicket. Jacks got out for 29 runs, while Rickelton was dismissed by Digvesh Rathi for 59 runs with 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Then Suryakumar Yadav took center stage as he slammed 54 runs in 28 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes before falling to Avesh Khan in the 18th over.
However, before he got out, Suryakumar Yadav displayed an array of his stroke play. One shot stood out in particular. Prince Yadav bowled a length ball to Surya and the batter went down on one knee outside off-stump and swatted at the ball. The ball took the middle of the bat and went for a six over fine leg.
