Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran experienced two spectrums of human emotions during her team’s IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 25, 2025. This match is being played in Chepauk in Chennai.

SRH bowled CSK out for 154, with pacer Harshal Patel excelling with four wickets. But during the seventh over, an unexpected drama occurred that had nothing to do with wickets. Harshal dropped a legitimate catch at long-off off the penultimate delivery of Zeeshan Ansari's over, saving Ravindra Jadeja on 8.

Cameras captured Kavya Maran's extremely stunned and emotive reaction on the stand. Her mix of amazement and rage rapidly drew followers' attention online, with the video circulating across social media sites.

Her mood improved considerably after MS Dhoni was dismissed for six off ten balls in the 17th over. Kavya was seen bouncing with joy from the stands, in stark contrast to the deflated Chennai fans. It was Dhoni's third dismissal for a single-digit score in nine innings this season.

Coming to the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first. Ayush Mhatre (30), Ravindra Jadeja (21), Dewald Brevis (42), and Deepak Hooda (22) were the main scorers as CSK made 154 runs in 19.5 overs.

For SRH, Harshal Patel took 4/28, while Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat took 2 wickets each.
