IPL 2025: WATCH- KL Rahul walks away from LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka after handshakes despite him wanting to talk

The 40th match of the IPL 2025 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 22, 2025, in their own backyard in Lucknow. DC captain Axar Patel had won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Aiden Markram (52) and Mitchell Marsh (45) added 87 runs in 10 overs for the opening wicket. However, after that LSG was pushed back with cheap wickets of Nicholas Pooran (9) and Abdul Samad (2). LSG brought in Ayush Badoni as impact player and he made 36 in 21 balls.

Rishabh Pant came out to bat at no.7 and made a duck, while David Miller made 14*. This helped push LSG’s final total to 159/6. Mukesh Kumar of DC picked 4/33.

In response, Abishek Porel gave a flying start to DC, scoring 51 runs. Then KL Rahul (57* with 3 fours and 3 sixes) and Axar Patel (34* with 4 sixes and 1 four) added 56* runs for the third wicket. LSG won the match in 17.5 overs, reaching the total of 161 with 8 wickets in hand.

Mukesh Kumar was given the Player of the Match for his four wickets and DC solidified their second spot in IPL 2025 points table with 12 points from 6 wins in 8 games.

After the match, KL Rahul was approaching the LSG contingent for hand-shakes and his former boss, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was the first in line. KL Rahul warmly shook hands with Goenka, who sported a huge smile.

Then Rahul moved to the next person, but Goenka held his hand as he wanted to talk to him, but the DC keeper, quickly freed himself and moved on.
