Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 37 of the IPL 2025 season in Chandigarh on Sunday (April 20).

Opting to bowl first, RCB restricted PBKS to 157/6 in 20 overs as the spin duo of Krunal Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) shared four wickets between them.

The hosts struggled to build momentum with RCB striking at regular intervals. Opener Prabhsimran Singh top-scored for Punjab with a 17-ball 33.

Chasing the target, RCB got over the line with seven deliveries to spare. Virat Kohli (73* off 54) and Devdutt Padikkal (61 off 35) shared a 103-run stand, which formed the backbone of the comprehensive win.

With this victory, RCB jumped to third spot in the team standings, with 10 points under their belt from 8 outings. On the other hand, PBKS slipped to the fourth position.

Cricket fraternity praised Kohli and Padikkal for their half-centuries, which helped RCB get back to winning ways after a recent slump.

The thing is when he will get a start while chasing, more often than not Virat Kohli wont leave it for the rest. Once he gets a start, he will stay there, finish off the game. A lesson for others who may be tempted to go for glory in such run chases #RCBvPBKS
