Former Team India spinner R Ashwin has accelerated his transformation from a cricketer who makes YouTube videos part-time to a player who now plays cricket part-time but is a full-time social media star.
However, as Ashwin's YouTube career has grown, so have the issues, particularly those surrounding his current Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings.
Because of the scandal, Ashwin had to tell a panelist in a new YouTube video not to discuss MS Dhoni or his franchise.
“I'm so happy that you won the match. Ashwin, the only thing is that you've led the team a lot. The team that you've led has won the TNPL. What I feel is that leadership is very, very important. That leader is someone like Sanju, someone like Shreyas Iyer, someone like Thala Dhoni," the panelist said on Ashwin’s YouTube channel.
Reacting quickly, Ashwin shushed the panelist and said “Sshhh. Ssshhhh" while gesturing him not to speak about CSK or MS Dhoni.
"No, you shouldn't be the one talking. I can talk. I'm an audience member," the panelist tried to clarify.

In response, the former India spinner, who began his IPL career with CSK, stated that he never discussed his franchise while with the Rajasthan Royals.
"I've never talked about my team in RR before," Ashwin stated. As a result, it is important to note that the current CSK dispute is not the only issue at hand.
The issue surrounding Ashwin's YouTube account began when former South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) commentator Prasanna Agoram opposed to CSK's choice to add Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad in the squad despite the fact that Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin were on the roster. Even CSK coach Stephen Fleming was asked for his thoughts on the incident.
The uproar, however, could not be contained, causing Ashwin to proclaim that his channel would not air any CSK matches or programming till the end of the IPL 2025.
