The Mumbai Indians (MI) ended their 4-match losing streak as they defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in their own home at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, April 13.

DC won the toss and decided to bowl first. MI managed to thread together some excellent scores and partnerships to reach 205/5 in 20 overs. Tilak Varma led the way with 59 points, followed by Ryan Rickelton (41), Suryakumar Yadav (40), and Naman Dhir (38*).

In response, the DC innings was completely dominated by Karun Nair. In his first IPL encounter since 2020, Nair scored 89 in 40 balls, including 12 fours and 5 sixes. He also scored 119 runs with Abishek Porel for the second wicket after Jake Fraser-McGurk was dismissed for a golden duck.

Poised for victory at 135/3, DC fell worryingly. Karn Sharma took three crucial wickets of Porel, KL Rahul, and Tristan Stubbs, setting DC's pursuit back. Ashutosh Sharma (17) and Vipraj Nigam (14) attempted to keep the run chase alive, but three runouts in three balls in the 19th over sealed the deal for them.

DC got knocked out for 193 and lost the game against MI by 12 runs. This was DC's first loss in the IPL 2025 after four wins, while MI won their first match after four consecutive losses.

However, there was not only action on the ground, but there was no dearth of drama in the stands as well, as a massive brawl broke out between fans.

Visuals of the altercation have gone viral on social media, with a female fan seen thrashing another individual. The motive for the brawl has not been established and is unknown.
