The Delhi Capitals (DC) hosted the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the 29th match of the IPL 2025. MI came into the game with 1 win in 5 matches, while DC is at the top of the table with 4 wins in 4 matches.
DC won the toss and chose to bowl first. MI managed to string some good scores and partnerships to post 205/5 in 20 overs. Tilak Varma top-scored with 59, while Ryan Rickelton (41), Suryakumar Yadav (40),and Naman Dhir (38*) contributed as well.
During the MI innings, in the 18th over, Naman Dhir hammered Mitchell Starc straight down the ground and the ball seemed it sailing over the boundary for a six. But DC captain Axar Patel sprinted down from long off and took an excellent catch.
However, his momentum was taking him over the boundary rope and to save the six, Axar threw the ball back into the field of play before crossing the boundary. His effort was widely applauded as he turned a sure shot six into just one run, saving 5 crucial runs for his team.
