Virat Kohli slammed an unbeaten half-century (62* off 45 balls) to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) chase down 174 with nine wickets and 15 balls to spare against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025 clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Known for his supreme fitness standards, Kohli, however, struggled in the heat of Jaipur as he took a few minutes to catch his breath in the middle.
The incident unfolded in the 15th over when Kohli ran back for a couple of runs. After making it to the striker's end, the RCB stalwart was seen struggling and it was then that he asked RR skipper Sanju Samson to check his heartbeat.
"Heartbeat check karna. (Check my heartbeat)," stump mic caught Kohli saying to Samson. To this, the wicketkeeper replied, "Theek hai. (It's okay)."
Following the completion of the 15th over, RCB decided to take a strategic time, allowing the batters to recover and catch their breath.
At the start of the chase, Virat Kohli played the role of second fiddle as his opening partner Phil Salt took the RR bowling attack to the cleaners. Salt slammed 65 off 33 balls (5 fours and 6 sixes) before getting out in the ninth over.
After his dismissal, Kohli put a pedal on accelerator and went on to seal the chase along with Devdutt Padikkal, who remained unbeaten on 40 off 28 balls.
