On Saturday in IPL 2025, Nicholas Pooran's stunning performance of 61 off 34 balls, including seven sixes, enabled Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) overcome Gujarat Titans (GT) by six wickets at Ekana Stadium.
Pooran cemented his status as the Orange Cap holder, scoring 349 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 215.43. He currently leads teammate Sai Sudharshan by 20 runs in the race.
GT had batted first and posted 180/6 with Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill scoring half-centuries and adding 120 runs for the first wicket. But LSG bowlers hit back in style and kept the LSG total in check. Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each.
In response, Aiden Markam made 58 in 31 and Pooran hammered 61 with 1 four and 7 sixes as LSG won the match by 6 wickets.
During the match in Lucknow, one of Pooran's sixes struck a spectator, injuring his head. The injured fan was promptly sent to a hospital for treatment. According to a viral video, the spectator eventually returned to the stadium to celebrate Lucknow's triumph, Times Of India reported.
