The ongoing IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) produced a fascinating battle between Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli.
The fixture at the Wankhede Stadium marks Bumrah’s return to action after recovering from the lower back injury he sustained during the fifth BGT Test in January this year.
There was a lot of anticipation for the Bumrah versus Kohli contest, and RCB stalwart made the statement first up by hitting the MI pacer for a six.
On the second delivery of the fourth over, Bumrah bowled a shortish ball from over the wicket and Kohli moved leg-side to launch it over deep midwicket to gain half a dozen runs.
Here’s the video:
Virat Kohli (36* off 19), along with Devdutt Padikkal (32* off 15), dominated the powerplay as RCB reached 73/1 after the end of 6 overs.
MI managed to pick only one wicket in the powerplay with Trent Boult dismissing Philip Salt (4) on the second ball of RCB’s innings itself.
