Navjot Singh Sidhu, former Indian cricketer, severely roasted Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) MS Dhoni on Saturday during a IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. His remark was made on television during Chennai's dismal attempt to chase down 184 at home, which fell 25 runs short of the objective. This was Chennai's second straight home loss this season.
It happened during the 14th over of the final innings, when Dhoni faced Mohit Sharma. The pacer threw a wide yorker to Vijay Shankar, who hit it to long-off for a single. However, he overstepped, meaning Dhoni received a free hit. Delhi captain Axar Patel positioned a fielder at long-on and long-off, and analyst Jatin Sapru predicted an "excellent contest" with Mohit now a seasoned bowler in crunch situations.
However, Sidhu dismissed it, claiming that Delhi, needing to defend 95 runs in 28 balls, was already in a winning position, implying that Dhoni's only choice was to strike a six off the free-hit delivery.
Referring to the crowd that waited with bated breath for a boundary from Dhoni, Sidhu predicted that if he pulled it off, the viewers would go crazy.
"There is no contest here. It's a win-win situation. He has to go for sixes. If he doesn't go now then when will he? The required run rate is almost 15 now. Listen to the crowd, everyone is expecting a six. And if you live up to the expectation, then this stadium will explode," Sidhu said.
However, much to the despair of the supporters, Dhoni failed to make contact with the ball after Mohit startled him with a bouncer. The sight has Sidhu viciously taunting Dhoni.
“Oh...yeh toh phush patakha nikla. Khoda pahad nikli chuhiya,” he said.

The former CSK skipper was once again chastised following a lackluster performance against Delhi. Walking out at No. 7, Dhoni struggled to generate any momentum throughout his 26-ball 30 as CSK fell by 25 runs, their third consecutive defeat.
