The 14th match of the IPL 2025 saw Gujarat Titans (GT) visiting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match was played on April 2, 2025.
Shubman Gill won the toss and chose that GT would bowl first. The decision proved to be correct as Mohammed Siraj removed Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt, while Arshad Khan dismissed Virat Kohli (7), leaving RCB rattled in the powerplay overs.
Thanks to Liam Livingstone’s 54, Jitesh Sharma’s 33, and Tim David’s 32 in 18, RCB managed to post 169/8 in 20 overs. Mohammed Siraj reigned supreme on his former home ground in IPL, taking 3/19 in his 4 overs.
In reply, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Shubman Gill for 14 runs, but then, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler took the game away from RCB with a 75-run partnership. Sai made 49 in 36 balls, while Buttler remained unbeaten on 73 in 39 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Sherfane Rutherford made 30* in 18 balls as GT won the match by 8 wickets in hand and 13 balls to spare.
Mohammed Siraj won the Player of the Match award for his exceptional bowling.
