Jasprit Bumrah’s absence was felt in the Mumbai Indians (MI) playing XI as they suffered defeats in their first two IPL 2025 matches against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT).
Bumrah has been out of competitive action since the fifth BGT Test against Australia in Sydney, where he sustained a lower back injury. The fast bowler didn’t feature in India’s triumphant Champions Trophy 2025 campaign as he failed to recover in time.
While there is no specific timeline for his return, the good news for MI is that Bumrah has resumed bowling in the nets at NCA.
In a video doing rounds on social media, the right-arm quick can be seen bowling in full tilt. Bumrah’s return to the nets has ignited hopes of him making a comeback soon.
MI’s upcoming matches are scheduled against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 31, followed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 4 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 7.
While Bumrah is unlikely to be fit for the KKR clash, the team will hope he recovers in time for the LSG or RCB fixtures. If not, his most probable return could be during the Delhi Capitals (DC) game on April 13.
