KL Rahul, the Delhi Capitals' ace batter, has joined the squad following the team's IPL 2025 opening-match triumph over the Lucknow Super Giants earlier this week.
Rahul had missed the opening match for personal reasons, as he and his wife Athiya Shetty had just given birth to their daughter. This wonderful event was not lost on the DC squad, who rushed to social media to welcome the new arrival.
On Wednesday, DC uploaded a lovely video from a team dinner that captured the entire squad's fun-filled evening. The event featured players engaging in amusing activities such as impersonating one another and playing lighthearted games.
Rahul stole the show and had the group in splits with his hilarious impersonation of the team's mentor, Kevin Pietersen.
In a hilarious occasion, Rahul not only imitated Pietersen's distinctive batting stance but also gave an accurate impression of his voice.
"Mate, any guesses?" Rahul jokingly asked.
Here is the video:
KL Rahul was bought by DC in the IPL 2025 auction for INR 14 crores and was even in contention for the DC captaincy with Axar Patel. However, it was reported that Rahul denied the captaincy with Capitals, paving the way for Axar to become captain.
With Rahul joining the squad, the batter is scheduled to make his Delhi Capitals debut against the high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 30 in Visakhapatnam.
