During Wednesday, March 26's IPL 2025 encounter in Guwahati, Rajasthan Royals' stand-in captain, Riyan Parag, was dismissed thanks to a masterful combination of Varun Chakravarthy and Quinton de Kock.
Following their crushing defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 opening in Kolkata, the Kolkata Knight Riders displayed a better bowling performance.
With two wickets apiece, Varun Chakravarthy and Moeen Ali were instrumental in the middle overs. Sunil Narine, who missed KKR's second game because of sickness, was replaced by England all-rounder Moeen Ali.
Earlier, Sanju Samson was dismissed by Vaibhav Arora, who made the breakthrough in the powerplay. But Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal formed a strong alliance.
Varun Chakravarthy tried a leg-break but pitched it short, and Riyan showed his resolve by blasting a huge 90-meter six in the opening over.
Nevertheless, Varun surprised Riyan Parag with a speedier delivery on the very following one. When Parag tried another massive shot, he only got a top edge, and the speed gun recorded it at 113 kph.
As the ball went high in the air, Quinton de Kock called for the catch early, demonstrating his poise and expertise. He quickly threw his helmet aside so he could see the falling ball better. The keeper displayed the finest level of game awareness and took the catch with ease.
