Mayank Yadav, a fast bowler for India and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has begun bowling at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru in preparation for the Indian Premier League 2025. Mayank Yadav made an impressive India debut against Bangladesh in the T20I series but broke down soon after.
He was diagnosed with a back ailment and since then, he has been with the BCCI CoE building up strength and working towards full fitness.
As a result, the timing of his return for the IPL 2025 is uncertain, as LSG patiently awaits the youthful speedster's full fitness recovery. The 22-year-old was retained by the franchise for Rs 11 crore ahead of the season following his impressive debut in 2024.
What will elate his IPL franchise, LSG Mayank Yadav, is that he has shown amazing progress under the watchful eyes of the BCCI medical team and has begun bowling in nets at the facility.
In a video posted on social media, the young speedster was seen bowling with a reduced run-up at a light intensity under the supervision of a coach.
Here is the video:
Sports Tak has learned that Mayank is performing well in the nets and is ready for matches. The only thing LSG is asking for is a clearance from the Centre of Excellence so that the pacer can join the squad.
LSG hopes that Mayank will join the squad on April 11 or 12, which would imply that he will miss at least the first seven matches for his team. In LSG, Mayank will join forces with fast bowlers Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Shamar Joseph, Akash Singh, and Prince Yadav.
