Rishabh Pant was recently named as the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the IPL 2025 tournament. He was the most expensive player bought in the IPL 2025 mega auction by LSG for INR 27 crores.
Recently, he was quizzed about opening the innings for LSG in the coming IPL 2025, which begins on March 21.
"Temptation is 100% of many things, but, I think, I haven't made 100% clarity in the discussion I was having with discussions with Zaheer Khan. I haven't decided with 100% clarity whether to open or stay in the middle order. Because, when you've been playing in the middle order for so many years, and you've done well, God has been kind, that I was doing okay in the IPL, so when you've been playing for so many years, you get used to a certain role" Pant told Sports Tak.
Pant also stated that he does not want to make quick judgments based on external noise and does not want to change his batting order abruptly.
"I don't want to be making rash decisions like, okay, this is the external noise, let's do it too. And because for me, it's my life, it's my career, and this is something I live for. So I don't want to change that overnight, I want to think about it for some more time. I will discuss it with Zak Bhai. I will have more discussions with Justin about what we can and can't do. Eventually, I will back up whatever decisions we take," added Pant.
Pant will be the fourth captain for LSG inthe IPL after KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya, and Nicolas Pooran.
