Nitish Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah took a sly dig at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after they snubbed the batter in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction. Rana had been a steady performer for KKR, greatly contributing to the team's success.
He even captained KKR in the IPL 2023 while Shreyas Iyer was injured and performed admirably, even though the team did not make the playoffs. Despite his achievements, KKR decided not to retain or actively pursue him at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Saudi Arabia.
KKR's decision not to use their Right to Match (RTM) card to retain Rana surprised many fans and sparked considerable discussion.
Rana's wife, Saachi Marwah, expressed her disappointment on social media following the auction.
“Loyalty is very expensive; not everyone can afford it,” she wrote in social media posts.
Marwah's post instantly went viral, with fans arguing the value of loyalty within IPL franchises and questioning the KKR's choice. Rana and his wife also unfollowed KKR on Instagram, indicating a tense relationship with the franchise.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals purchased Nitish Rana in the auction for Rs 4.20 crore. Rana announced his switch to the Rajasthan Royals by sharing an Instagram photo of himself wearing a pink shirt.
