IPL 2025: Hazlewood returns to RCB for 12.50 Cr; RR buys Archer for 12.50 Cr; Boult to wear MI jersey again; Natarajan bought by DC

Jofra Archer's name was added to auction list at the last minute.

The IPL 2025 mega-auction is now taking place in Jeddah, with 577 players bidding for a chance to participate in the world's richest and most popular T20 league. 367 of the selected players are Indian, with 210 from other countries. The two-day auction will fill 204 spaces, 70 of which are earmarked for foreign players.

The fast bowlers’ set was opened with Josh Hazlewood being the first name out for bidding. LSG and KKR started competing for Hazlewood’s services. However, KKR bowed out soon, but RCB entered the fray.

Hazlewood has done well for RCB previously and MI also tried their hands and raised the bid to INR 10.75 Cr, however, RCB won the war with the final bid of INR 12.50 Cr.

Prasidh Krishna was the next name out and RR and GT went at it for the Karnataka pacer. RR’s bid of INR 7.25 Cr was bettered by GT with INR 7.50 and finally, GT won with a big bid of INR 9.50 Cr.

Avesh Khan’s name saw LSG and RR fighting for his services. In the middle, PBKS also jumped and took the amount to INR 3.4 Cr. Then RR came in for some fun, but LSG stayed put and won the bidding with INR 9.75 Cr.

South Africa’s Anrich Nortje saw KKR and LSG open the bidding for him. Finally, KKR got him for INR 6.50 Cr as Delhi declined to use RTM.

The big name of Jofra Archer was next, who was added to the IPL 2025 auction at the last minute. MI and LSG began the bidding as paddles were raised by both tables in quick succession. Then RR comes into the picture and the amount is increased to 11 Cr in no time.

MI tried their best with an 11.25 Cr bid, but in the end, RR won the contest with a winning bid of INR 12.25 Cr.

CSK bought Khaleel Ahmed for INR 4.80 Cr after a small bidding battle with LSG as DC decided not to use their RTM for the left-arm pacer.

Tamil Nadu’s T Natarajan’s name was up next and multiple franchises showed interest in the yorker specialist. SRH, RCB, and DC had a three-way bidding battle for the southpaw pacer. RCB raised the bid to INR 7 Crs.

Despite huge interest, RCB pulled out once the bid amount crossed INR 10 Cr. Delhi got Natarajan’s services for INR 10.75 Cr.

New Zealand pacer Trent Boult the final name in the pacers’ set and Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals went after him. The two franchises battled it out for Boult, who has played for both teams in IPL. Finally, MI got their first player in this auction as they bought Boult for INR 12.50 Cr.
