As many as 1,574 players have registered for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, slated to be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.
A total of 204 slots are up for grabs across the 10 IPL franchises, with each team allowed a maximum squad of 25 players. The registration list is dominated by Indian players with 1,165 players signing up, while 409 overseas players will also be hoping for a lucrative IPL contract.
The registered players include a combination of experienced and new talent:
- 320 players are capped: 48 are Indian and 272 are international.
- 1,224 players are uncapped: 965 are Indian and 104 are international.
- 152 uncapped Indians were part of previous IPL seasons.
- 3 uncapped internationals were part of previous IPL seasons.
- 30 players are from Associate Nations.
Out of 409 registered overseas players, 76 are from Australia while there are 91 and 52 representations from South Africa and England respectively. Cricketers from New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Canada, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Scotland, UAE, USA, and Italy have also thrown their hats into the auction ring.
All the registered players have a base price attached to them. Franchises can bid for their services at the base price or increase the offer. However, this long list will be trimmed after consultations with the franchises.
List of Indians with the highest base price of INR 2 crore: Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Shami, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, T. Natarajan, Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandya, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav.
