KL Rahul made his IPL debut with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2013, and after spending a few years with Sunrisers Hyderabad (2014-2015), he returned to the Bengaluru-based team in 2016.
He missed the 2017 edition of the cash-rich league due to injuries, and was then released by the franchise before joining the Punjab Kings (2018-2021) and later the Lucknow Super Giants (2022-present).
Despite becoming the captain of LSG in the world's wealthiest franchise cricket league and creating a name for himself as a batter, Rahul has previously voiced a desire to play for RCB again.
With the big auction scheduled for next year, the 32-year-old right-handed batsman is likely to depart the Lucknow-based club, which he signed for Rs 17 crore ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, and maybe rejoin RCB.
Though there was a conversation between Rahul and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka, the rumors of Rahul parting ways with LSG are quite high.
Even though there is no assurance in the big auction that Rahul's request would be granted, the news of his joining RCB has been circulating on social media for quite some time.
Amidst all of this, a video of him has gone viral on the internet, in which he reacts in three words when the person interacting with him discusses his possible comeback to RCB for IPL 2025.
“I am a die-hard RCB fan. I am following RCB since very long, and you playing past in RCB, and now definitely the rumors; I won’t say anything. But yeah, I am just wishing and praying that you come into RCB and rock here,” the person said.
To which KL replied by saying, “Let’s hope so.”
In his maiden outing for RCB, KL Rahul managed 20 runs in the five matches he played from two innings. In 2016, he joined RCB again and finished as the third leading run scorer for the franchise by amassing a total of 397 runs in 14 matches.
