Rinku Singh became a household name after his stunning exploits in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The southpaw emerged as the highest run-getter for his side, amassing 474 runs from 14 innings at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52. More than the impressive numbers, he caught everyone’s attention by finishing games for KKR from difficult situations.
Following his breakthrough IPL season, Rinku was rewarded a place in India’s squad and he has represented the country in two ODIs and 23 T20Is so far.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Rinku Singh is expected to be retained by KKR. However, if the defending champions decide to part ways with him, the left-hander would prefer to join Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
“RCB, because Virat Kohli is there” Rinku told Sports Tak.
Rinku Singh shares a healthy rapport with Virat Kohli, and during the last IPL season, he requested another bat from the legend, explaining that the one he had previously received had broken
"He gave me a bat once, but it broke, so I asked him for another one, and he didn't say no to me. It was a big deal for me when he gave me a second bat," Rinku said in the same interview.
