IPL 2024: “Ye waali celebration Trophy ke saath karenge”- Harshit Rana reveals Shah Rukh Khan’s promise

Shah Rukh Khan and entire KKR contingent did the flying kiss celebration after IPL 2024 win.

IPL champions KKR celebrating with flying Kiss gesture | XHarshit Rana, the pacer of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), revealed that Shah Rukh Khan had promised him that they will use his gesture to celebrate with the IPL 2024 trophy. This was after Rana was fined and later banned for one match due to a breach of the IPL code of conduct.

Rana was one of the shining knights for KKR in IPL 2024 as he picked 19 wickets in 13 matches as KKR won the IPL 2024 trophy.

However, Rana's season was not without controversy. He was handed a one-match ban for a Level 1 offense under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct during a match against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens.

Rana had made an animated gesture towards DC's Abhishek Porel after taking his wicket, marking his second penalty of the season. Earlier, Rana had been fined 60% of his match fees for giving a flying-kiss send-off to Sunrisers Hyderabad's batter Mayank Agarwal.

Reflecting on his emotions after the ban, the 22-year-old recalled a remarkable meeting with Shah Rukh Khan. Feeling despondent, Rana received a pep talk from the Bollywood actor, who made a passionate commitment to boost his spirits.

"Oh Yes! After I got banned for one match, I was very sad and then Shah Rukh sir came to me and said 'Tu tension mat le ye waali celebration Trophy ke saath karenge' (Don't worry, we will celebrate this with the trophy). He promised me and made sure that we did that with the trophy and our team," Harshit told the Indian Express.

True to his word, Shah Rukh Khan led the entire KKR team in a flying kiss celebration after winning the IPL title. This act not only kept a promise but also brought the crew together in a moment of delight and togetherness.

Rana's effort in the final versus Sunrisers Hyderabad was excellent. He got two wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs, including a rare maiden over in the summit clash.
