IPL 2024: WATCH- Virat Kohli's brilliant pick up and throw from boundary results in Dhruv Jurel's run out

Green ran out Jurel off a brilliant throw by Kohli  |BCCI-IPLThe exciting Eliminator clash of the IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Ahmedabad on May 22 saw some brilliance in the field by legend Virat Kohli.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bowl first. There was not a huge score by any RCB batter, but small contributions that took the team to a competitive total.

Virat Kohli (33), Rajat Patidar (34), and Mahipal Lomror (32) were the main contributors as RCB posted 172/8 in 20 overs. Avesh Khan picked 3/44, while R Ashwin took two wickets.

In reply, RR lost Tom Cohler-Cadmore for 20 runs, while Sanju Samson made 17 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was looking in good touch before he was out for 45 runs, off Cameron Green’s bowling.

Riyan Parag needed some assistance at the other end and Dhruv Jurel provided the same. Jurel looked like set to take RR near the target but fell to the brilliance of Virat Kohli’s fielding.

Riyan Parag smacked the ball towards the front of the square on the on side of the bowling of Cameron Green. Parag had called for two and was running fast, but Jurel was ambling through for the second run.

Virat Kohli patrolling the boundary on the leg side, saw Jurel taking it easy and pounced on the ball like a Cheetah and returned a brilliant throw to Green, who broke the stumps in one swift motion.

The decision went to the TV umpire and replays showed that Jurel’s bat was just centimeters out of the crease, when Green broke the stumps. Jurel was deemed out and Kohli showcased his quickness despite his age.
