IPL 2024: WATCH- Venkatesh Iyer strikes pose during post-match interview after KKR defeated SRH to reach final

Iyer had made 51* in KKR's successful chase against SRH in Qualifier 1.

Venkatesh Iyer | BCCI-IPLKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player Venkatesh Iyer was in his element during the post-match interview with the broadcasters as his team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to qualify for the final of IPL 2024.

Iyer starred with the bat in the chase of 160-run target as he made 51* runs off 28 balls as KKR chased down the modest target with 38 balls to spare, completely stamping their authority over the 2016 champions.

Iyer hit 4 sixes in his knock keeping KKR in the hunt despite them losing their openers Sunil Narine (21) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (23) early.

Venkatesh was in a good mood after the match, displaying his 'mamba side' before speaking with broadcasters. The elegant batter was standing with a side pose, and the camera began rolling as announcer Harsha Bhogle was taken aback by his antics.

However, he immediately apologized to the senior broadcaster with a smile on his face.

"More than the confidence I really wanted to go out and bat, we last played a game on the 11th, so we all were eager to go out and showcase our talent. The wicket was really good, credit goes to our bowlers for bowling them out for 160-odd.

In a tournament like this, momentum is really important, we have seen that with RCB winning their matches continuously and gaining momentum even though we wanted that momentum, so we wanted to go out and wanted the rain to stop but it was disappointing," Iyer said.

KKR will now face the winner of Qualifier 2 in the final of IPL 2024 which will be played on May 26, Sunday in Chennai.
