Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) found themselves ahead in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 21. The match is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first. Mitchell Starc struck early with three quick wickets in the forms of Travis Head (0), Nitish Reddy (9), and Shahbaz Ahmed (0). Then Rahul Tripathi (55) and Heinrich Klaasen (32) brought SRH back into the game.

But KKR bowlers kept chipping away at the wickets of SRH.

This collapse of the SRH batting lineup, losing five wickets in a space of just 30 balls for 25 runs, was thoroughly enjoyed by the KKR contingent including mentor Gautam Gambhir and co-owner Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana.

Gambhir aggressively celebrated in the dugout with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, while Suhana, his brother AbRam, and Shah Rukh Khan couldn't keep calm.

Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins, however, played a crucial knock of 30 off 24 while also putting on a vital 33-run stand for the last wicket with Vijayakanth Viyaskanth to take SRH to 159 in the end. Apart from Mitchell Starc’s 3/34, Varun Chakravarthy took 2 wickets.
