Former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings in their last IPL 2024 group-stage encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday. With this win, SRH finished at the no.4 spot in the points table.

They will now face Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier on May 21 in Ahmedabad and in case they lose, will have another chance to qualify for the final.

Abhishek Sharma was the star for SRH as he scored 66 off just 28 deliveries, which helped his team cruise past the 214-run target set by the visitors.

After the match, Abhishek Sharma shared some fun moments with his Punjab teammate Abhishek Sharma. Both players walked towards the stands where Abhishek’s mother, Manju, and sister, Komal, sat. Arshdeep went towards Abhishek's mother to seek her blessings.

The PBKS bowler sent Abhishek's mother a heartfelt message in Punjabi, asking her to bestow the same blessings on him as she did on her son.

"Give me the blessings which you give to Abhishek… I want the same,” the 25-year-old said in excitement.
