Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to reach the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). The hosts secured the final playoff position after defeating CSK by more than 17 runs in a final-over thriller at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 18.
On Saturday night, while the RCB squad basked in the joy of an unbelievable turnaround, the ugly head of fan wars surged to the surface.
While the RCB squad praised its followers on Twitter (now X) for their outstanding support, CSK wished that its fans arrived home safely that night. Outside the stadium, chaos occurred, with fans from both sides accusing one another of disorderly conduct on the streets.
Many women fans of CSK revealed their grievances and stated that they had been harassed by the RCB fans on the road and that they felt under threat. On the other hand, CSK fan pages accused RCB of hounding the away fans in the stadium by coming to their face and crossing lines while celebrating their victories.
