Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are clashing in the 65th match of the IPL 2024 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, Assam on May 15. RR has already qualified for the playoffs, while PBKS has been eliminated from the race for the final four.
PBKS bowlers stayed on top of RR batters as Riyan Parag (48), and R Ashwin (28) were the only two batters to cross 20 runs. Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Sanju Samson made 18 each as RR managed 144/9 in 20 overs.
Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar picked two wickets each for the Punjab side.
Now the onus was on Trent Boult to give RR the perfect start and he provided one as well. After he was hit for a four on the 3rd ball by Prabhsimran Singh, Boult shortened his length a bit and took the ball across Singh.
Prabhsimran tried to pull the ball but managed to get a top edge and the ball flew to the short third man area. The fielder underneath the catch was Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult had a concerning expression on his face.
However, Chahal successfully took the catch and Boult was impressed with the leggie’s fielding and catching abilities and let out a smile.
