"They have to pay a lot of money," Sreesanth makes shocking revelation about defunct IPL team Kochi Tuskers Kerala

Sreesanth claimed that Kochi Tuskers Kerala failed to fulfill their financial commitments to the players.

Sreesanth and other prominent names played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 | XFormer India pacer Sreesanth made a shocking revelation about his stint with Kochi Tuskers Kerala, a team that played only one IPL season back in 2011 and was terminated in the subsequent edition for violating the terms of the agreement.

The team, which included prominent names such as Brendon McCullum, Mahela Jayawardene, Ravindra Jadeja besides Sreesanth, apparently couldn’t fulfill its financial commitments to the players.

According to Sreesanth, the franchise is yet to clear the payments of cricketers who played for them in the 2011 edition of IPL.

"They have to pay a lot of money. They still haven't. You should get Muralitharan sir (Muttiah Muralitharan), you should get Mahela (Mahela Jayawardene) and in your show they will only tell you. McCullum was also there, and Jadeja," Sreesanth said on The Ranveer Show Podcast while speaking to Ranveer Allahbadia.

Sreesanth also revealed that the franchise was supposed to participate in the tournament for three seasons but faced suspension after its inaugural campaign in 2011.

The 41-year-old further cited that the players associated with the Kochi franchise have avoided speaking publicly about their outstanding payments.

"Please guys, BCCI has literally paid you, I think. Please pay us...anyway whenever you're paying, remember the 18% interest every year. I feel by the time my kid gets married, we will definitely receive the money (laughs). The team was supposed to be for three years, and the team got terminated in the first year. I think no one has spoken about it. Even now when the players meet, they talk about it," he remarked.
