IPL 2024: WATCH- Faf du Plessis reveals one area in which Virat Kohli has been a ‘bad influence’ on him

Du Plessis joined the RCB franchise in 2022 and has been opening the innings with Kohli.

Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli for RCB | RCB XFaf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have forged a strong bond since South Africa joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise in IPL 2022. Both Kohli and Du Plessis are open for the RCB as well and have known each other for a long time.

RCB, still with an outside chance of making the IPL 2024 playoffs, will meet Punjab Kings on Thursday at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, as both teams face a must-win situation. And both Kohli and Faf will be in action in this match.

However, during the ‘Captains Speak’ segment for Star Sports, the RCB skipper revealed a few things about his bond and friendship with Virat Kohli.

"We both love food. We both are really into our fashion. That's another thing we spend a lot of time talking about. The way we dress, what style of clothes. We would send each other pictures of outfits and stuff like that," said the RCB captain.

He also mentioned Virat's love for watches, and how it has been a 'terrible influence' on him.

"He's been a terrible influence on me when it comes to watches, but he's got a real passion for watches," said the former South Africa captain with a smile.

Du Plessis rounded off the discussion with the mention of family and how being in a similar age group helps their wives and kids connect.

"He's got a daughter, I've got two daughters. He's got his second child now as well. Our wives and kids, having them at similar ages, (we) really connected at that front as well," Du Plessis said.
