SRH chased down 166-run target in just 9.4 overs, humiliating LSG bowling lineup.

Sajiv Goenka going off on KL Rahul after LSG's loss to SRH | XKL Rahul, the LSG captain, was seen getting an earful from franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka after they were thrashed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their IPL 2024 match in Hyderabad on May 8.

After winning the toss, KL Rahul opted to bat first and managed 165/4 in 20 overs. Ayush Badoni made 55* in 30 balls, Nicholas Pooran in 48*, and captain Rahul made 29 in 33.

SRH opener Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma didn’t give LSG bowlers a chance as they chased down the 166-run target in just 9.4 overs. Head made 89*, while Abhishek made 75* with SRH winning by 10 wickets and 62 balls to spare.

This humiliating loss has meant that things have become difficult for LSG in the race for the playoffs, while SRH improved their NRR from negative to positive in just one match.

The visuals following the match showed a sorry state for LSG captain KL Rahul, who was at a “loss for words” after the incredible onslaught from the SRH opening duo. Another video went viral on social media, which saw LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka visibly upset with Rahul and was seen giving him an earful.

He had an animated chat with Rahul with rather exaggerated hand movements, signifying his anger at the disappointing defeat against the Sunrisers.

However, the supporters were dissatisfied with Goenka's decision to publicly criticize Rahul. Many supporters think the LSG owner could have waited for the players to return to the dressing room or another private area to speak. They urged KL Rahul to leave the franchise for his self-respect.
