IPL 2024: WATCH - Hardik, Suryakumar left shocked as Cummins shares story of his chopped middle finger

Hardik and Surya interacted with Cummins for quite a while after the MI vs SRH clash.

Pat Cummins, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav | ScreengrabSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins on Monday (May 7) shared the story of his chopped middle finger with Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya and dashing batter Suryakumar Yadav.

After the conclusion of the MI versus SRH match at the Wankhede Stadium, Hardik and Surya interacted with Cummins for quite a while. The video of their chat went viral on social media.

From the visuals, it seemed as if Hardik asked Cummins about his short middle finger on the bowling hand. The SRH captain then showed them his severed finger as both Hardik and Surya were left shocked.

It is worth mentioning here that Pat Cummins lost the top of his right middle finger during a childhood accident when his sister slammed a door on it.

In the past, the Australian pacer has clarified that the severed finger doesn't impact his bowling.

"It doesn't really affect me because (the finger) is about the same length as the other one (index finger)," Cummins told cricket.com.au some years ago.

Coming to the match, Suryakumar Yadav slammed a sublime hundred to script MI’s seven-wicket victory over SRH.

Chasing 174 to win, the five-time champions lost their top three for just 31 runs. The likes of Ishan Kishan (9), Rohit Sharma (4) and Naman Dhir (0) failed to reach the double figures.

Amid the pressure situation, Surya rose to the occasion as he smashed 102* off 51 balls – his second IPL ton – to take the hosts over the line with 16 deliveries to spare.
