The 52nd match of the IPL 2024 saw Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) taking each other on in Bengaluru on May 4. RCB was placed 10th on the points table, while GT was 8th.
Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose that RCB would bowl first. Mohammed Siraj ripped off the GT top order as the top three Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha, and Sai Sudharsan fell for single-digit scores.
Shahrukh Khan (37), David Miller (30), and Rahul Tewatia’s 35 helped GT post a below-par 147 on the board. Siraj, Yash Dayal, and Vijaykumar Vyshak picked two wickets each.
In response, Faf du Plessis (64 in 23) and Virat Kohli (42 in 27) went after the GT bowling in the powerplay. RCB made 92/1 in the first six overs, but then GT bowlers, Josh Little and Noor Ahmad picked some quick wickets.

Du Plessis, Will Jacks (1), Rajat Patidar (2), and Glenn Maxwell (4) well in succession leaving RCB 107/4 in 8 overs. Cameron Green (1) and Virat Kohli followed soon as RCB stumbled to 117/6, giving GT an opening.
But then Dinesh Karthik (21*) and Swapnil Singh (15*) took RCB to the finish line in 13.4 overs. RCB won by 4 wickets and with this win moved to 7th position in the points table. For GT, Josh Little took 4/45 and Noor Ahmad took 2 wickets.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for RCB clinically winning the match despite some bumps on the way.
