Speculations are rife that this could well be his last IPL season and, thus, Dhoni is getting warm reception and loud cheers in all the venues he is travelling to with the CSK side.

In particular, the Chennai fans makes deafening noise whenever Dhoni takes the field. In fact, the crazy fans sometimes cheer the dismissal of their own team's batters so that they can see their favorite Thala wielding the willow.

During CSK’s match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday (April 19), MS Dhoni’s craze was full on display once again.

Dhoni also made the day of the Chennai fans as he smashed 28 not out off just 9 balls with three fours and two sixes, propelling the defending champions to 176/6 in 20 overs.

After the first innings, as the crowd kept cheering for Dhoni, the veteran wicketkeeper responded to the chants with a classy gesture. He joined the hands to say ‘thank you’ to the spectators.

Coming to the match, Lucknow Super Giants chased down CSK’s target of 177 without breaking a sweat in 19 overs. Skipper KL Rahul led from the front with a whirlwind 53-ball 82 as the hosts emerged victorious by eight wickets.

This was CSK’s third defeat in seven games this season, but they retained their third position on the points table featuring 10 teams.

CSK will face Lucknow Super Giants again on April 23, but this time as hosts at iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium.
