MS Dhoni was the man of the hour for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their ongoing IPL 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 19.
LSG captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl first.
CSK lost Rachin Ravindra for a golden duck to Mohsin Khan, who castled him with a beauty. Then captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) and Ajinkya Rahane (36) shared a little partnership before returning to the pavilion.
Shivam Dube (3) and Sameer Rizvi (1) followed suit as CSK fell to 90/5. But Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali (30) scored 51 runs for the sixth wicket.
After Ali's wicket, Jadeja was joined by MS Dhoni, and CSK pressed the accelerator in the final five overs. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 57* in 40 balls, while MS Dhoni played a breezy cameo that included 3 fours and 2 sixes.
CSK made 176/6 in 20 overs. For LSG, Krunal Pandya with 2/16 was the pick of the bowlers.
The cricket fraternity couldn’t believe the way MS Dhoni played in his short cameo, as he hit a cheeky six to Mohsin Khan and then a monstrous 101-meter six to Yash Thakur. They lauded him wholeheartedly on social media for his blazing knock.
